Are you an Amazon Prime member?  With over 100 million Amazon Prime members in the US alone if you are not a member you likely know someone who is. While the most talked about perk in the program is free shipping there are many more benefits that you might love to use but had no idea fall under the program.  Here are eight benefits that you might want to take advantage of today.

1. Are you running out of photo storage?  If you are Amazon has a solution for you. With your prime membership you get unlimited storage for your photos. Take as many selfies as you like without running out of space to store them.  The service also provides you with unlimited high-resolution photo storage and up to five gigabytes of free storage for videos documents, and other files. Users of the service can also send invitations to up to five other friends or family members so that they can receive unlimited photo storage as well.

2. Forget about going to the library.  With Prime Reading you can check out up to ten titles at a time.  You do not need a Kindle to access this service a web browser can also be used. More than 1,000 books and magazines are available through the service, although access to magazines is not available in all countries. Many books also come with audio versions so that you can listen to your favourite book on your way to work. The books that are available through the service cover many genres including: nonfiction, classics, children's books and comic books.  Many of the books that are available are best sellers and new books are added to the service frequently.

3. You might want to give Amazon Music a try since it comes free with your Prime membership.  The basic Amazon Music service has a catalog of over 2 million songs.  It also features over 2,000 playlists and stations.  The service is ads free, you can skip songs and music can be downloaded for offline listening.  If that is not enough, you can add on $7.99 per month to your prime membership to get access to tens of millions of songs as well as even more playlists and stations as part of Amazon Music Unlimited.   Amazon music is perfect for playing music on an Amazon Alexa enabled device such as the Echo.  All you have to say is: “Alexa play my music” to hear songs that you have placed into your Amazon Music library. To get started download the Amazon Music app.

4. Prime Video offers members unlimited streaming of movies and TV shows.  While perhaps Amazon’s catalogue is not as robust as others Amazon has achieved critical acclaim for some of its own shows including Manchester by the Sea and Transparent.  Want to watch Sneaky Pete, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Jack Ryan or The Man in the High Castle?  All of these titles can be found on Amazon Video. Using the Amazon Prime Video app video content can be downloaded for viewing offline.

5. Twitch is a service owned by Amazon and it is typically used to watch live streamed video gameplay.  The platform has more than two million streamers and while on the platform users can watch esports tournaments and cheer on other gamers. In addition to live streaming and watching games it is also a social community for gamers.  Members also receive a free year of Nintendo Switch Online, Nintendo’s online play subscription service.   Each month a selection of videos is also available to be downloaded for free as part of the membership.    Members also get discounts on selected pre-order games and as an Amazon Prime member Twitch is ad-free.

6. Prime Wardrobe is a “try before you buy” clothing, accessories and shoes program.  Members can order up to eight items with free shipping, receive the items and then try them on before purchasing anything.  Customers can schedule a pick-up for the items they do not want, for free, of course.  Customers have seven days to try on the items and are only charged for the items they keep. The box of clothing comes with a return label so customers should keep the box the items were delivered in, just in case they need to make any returns.

7. Shipping is also free from other Amazon owned eCommerce businesses including Shopbop, East Dane, and Woot! Shopbop sells designer clothing and accessories from top brands for women and East Dane is the male counterpart.  Woot! is another eCommerce business where customers can receive daily deals across several categories including: electronics, home & kitchen, and sports and outdoors.

8. Did you know that some of the benefits you receive from your Prime Membership can be shared with other members of your household?  A household can contain up to two adults, four teens and four children that all live at the same address.  Some of the many benefits that can be shared include: Prime Shipping, Prime Video, Prime Reading and Amazon Photos.  Note that some benefits are not available due to age restrictions. For example, free photo storage can only be shared with household members that are over 13 years of age.  To get started with sharing your prime membership benefits you need to create a “household” within your amazon account settings.
